Prudence Illingworth

Graduate Certificate of Visual Art

My artwork strives to complicate the relationship that humans have with the material consumer world. Through taking ordinary manufactured trash objects, like glass bottles, and juxtaposing them with art processes, such as painting, I create new and unconventional forms. These new objects represent coming to terms with the reality of the damage we have caused to the environment and the uncertain future of human society as we currently know it.
