Jieun Ha

Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting)

I work primarily with painting to examine the relationship between geometric forms and vernacular objects. Based on my affinity for unattractive design, I collects images from accessible objects and ready-made patterns. I appropriates these designs through a process of distortion and erratic formations on uninterrupted surfaces. Through this process I aim to highlight and monumentalise abandoned images, while investigating my attraction and relationship to a distant location.
