Madeleine Peters

Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting)

I am a painter who also moves between textiles and sculpture. At present, my work is a deliberate attempt to produce a substitute reality—of an interior life or a less examined history. Often this might be an event that is unrecorded in a landscape now reformatted over time. Images of trains, volcanic forms, boats, mining and clothing resurface as my works navigate sequences of belief, place and human activity.
