Sonya Theys

Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting)

I primarily work with oil paint on canvas to produce vibrant colourscapes. Using bold colours and form to augment the environments surrounding my experience, and allowing for a window of escapism within place and memory. My paintings emphasise the inability to capture moving force—that of matter and colour—by exploring inner reflections of psychedelic realism through my own observation of the changing landscape and the living city.
