Kirsten Browning

Graduate Certificate of Visual Art

Mishmashing analogue and digital methods, my work explores the psychological and physical effects of displacement, destruction and oppressive power structures on the individual and the land. Documenting, pulling apart and reconstructing the weird and uncanny, I exorcise ghosts of lost utopias and sit with them to understand the trauma they carry. In creating this liminal space I repeatedly reconstruct my understanding of myself, my community and the spaces I move through.
