VCA ART 2020

YJ Fauzee

Graduate Certificate of Visual Art

My art is abstract in conception and execution. It depicts a fusion of living forces as they emerge within the world around us. The works explore the essential aspects of experience, which exist purely as colour, line and space. Inspiration is drawn from the natural environment and inner worlds of thought.

The mediums comprise of paintings, pastel drawings and digital art. The works have modernist undertones, reinvented to create contemporary abstract art. There is a strong use of line and open fields of space. A calligraphic sensibility and refined quality pervade the paintings and pastels. The digital works are sculptural and fluid in form. Throughout my work there is movement and presence. The play between light, shadow and space offer opportunities for reflection.
